“MannIN Shorts” event this Thursday

Well, it’s nearly time! This Thursday (Sept 9th) is the opening night of the Isle of Man Arts Council’s 2010 Film Festival, and is also the date of our ‘MannIN Shorts’ film makers event.

Quick reminder:

Venue: Broadway Cinema, Villa Marina Douglas
Time: 6pm
Price: £6.50
What to Expect: a number of short films will be shown, including the IOM premiere of ‘Ghostgirl’ and Chris Jones’ Oscar nominated ‘Gone Fishing’, followed by a Q&A session with a panel including Chris himself (who is also co-writer of the ‘Guerilla Filmmakers Handbook’ series), Hamish Morrow from FutureShorts.com, Lee Boardman (‘Timon’ in HBO’s Rome), Lesley Manning (acclaimed British writer director) and Dave Armstrong (Writer/Director of ‘Ghostgirl’).

Dave will also be talking about the idea behind ‘MannIN Shorts’ as a longterm filmmaking project and what it’s hoped can be achieved by setting up the initiative – & building the indigenous film making community on the Isle of Man.

We HOPE to broadcast some of the event live online, as part of Chris Jones’ Living Spirit Films LiveStream programme – will let you know when we finalise this.
